The current Pennsylvania 4-H Horse
Show Rule Book
shall govern the County Round-Up 4-H Horse Show and other 4-H equine events and
activities at the fair.
RULES & REGULATIONS

1. |
4-H members must be enrolled in the 4-H horse project by program enrollment deadlines (see Page 24). The horse or pony they intend to use must be enrolled as a project animal by June 1, 2010. |
| 2. | 4-H Project and Record Books must be up-to-date and must be judged at 4-H Roundup on Saturday, August 7, 2010. |
| 3. | The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place winners in the County Round-up 4-H Horse Show will be eligible for the District IV 4-H Horse Show. Minimum qualifying scores must be achieved in scored classes (see rule book). |
| 4. | All entrants must fill out an official entry form. Entry forms must be in the Tioga County Extension Office by Friday, July 22, 2010. |
| 5. | Chaperones after discussion with 4-H Educator have the authority to send members home for infractions of the Horse Barn Code. |
| 6. | Protective headgear must be worn while mounted or driving, as per the Pennsylvania 4-H Horse Show Rule Book. |
| 7. | All horse exhibitors must have met Extension office requirements for participating in Horse Ethics and Quality Assurance training. |
| 8. | All horses and ponies over six (6) months of age entered in 4-H shows or events must be inoculated for rabies at least thirty days prior to the event if this is the animal’s initial inoculation. All horses must have a current rabies vaccination and revaccination is required annually. Exhibitors must submit a rabies certificate, signed by a licensed veterinarian, as proof of vaccination. There is no specific form to be used for rabies vaccination verification. Any legitimate proof of vaccination provided by a licensed veterinarian that includes the veterinarian’s signature, date of vaccination, and name and/or description of the horse is acceptable. Acceptable forms of vaccination verification include, but are not limited to, standard rabies certificate, itemized bill signed by the veterinarian, or statement on business letterhead that is signed by the veterinarian. (Rabies vaccination must be administered prior to July 8, 2010). |

RULES & REGULATIONS

| 1. | 4-H members must be enrolled in the 4-H dairy project by program enrollment deadlines (see Page 26). Dairy animals must be enrolled by May 1, 2010 with final entry selections due by June 1, 2010. Refer to the 4-H Dairy Project Requirements from the Extension Office for class details. See Open Show Rules and Regulations for other entry deadlines. |
| 2. | 4-H Project and Record Books must be up-to-date and must be judged at 4-H Roundup on Saturday, August 7, 2010. |
| 3. | 4-H and FFA members must be present and have charge of their animals at the time of judging. |
| 4. | Good Housekeeping Awards will be awarded by club. |
| 5. | Non-registered and leased animals will follow the same ownership dates as registered animals. 4-H Dairy Roundup specific requirements will be available from Penn State Cooperative Extension Office. |
