From Left to Right:
Pat Carlineo - Lead Singer on guitar
Jeff Wisor - fiddle, mandolin,, banjo, & harmony
Bobby Adams - bass & harmony
They call themselves the Wise Guys, but it’s not what you think. This three-piece band produces jaw-dropping, foot-stomping blue grass and country music that will stick with you for days, if not weeks after you heard them. And that's an offer you can't refuse.
Jeff Wisor, the most seasoned pro of the trio, kills it any time he picks up his fiddle. He also sings harmony and can switch over to mandolin or banjo as the songs require. Born in Addison, NY, Jeff currently lives in Gang Mills, NY and plays in a number of bands such as John Rocklin and the Crackers, Lost Ramblers, Pete Paplardo and the Renegades, West Coast Wise Guys (the latter one whenever he's in California, that is) and most recently Pages of Paul, a band that has an incredible original sound (look them up on Youtube!). He's won the state fiddle champion title in Maryland, New York, and Pennsylvania, as well as the National Fiddle Contest sponsored by the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. He's played on the Grand Ole Opry stage with Jean Shepherd, at Carnegie Hall with Donna Fargo, with the renowned Mac Wiseman of the Hank Thompson television Show, and toured the world with David Bromberg, to name just a few of his career highlights.
Joining Jeff on stage Tuesday night is the Wise Guys lead singer Pat Carlineo hails from Corning, NY and now lives in Rathbone, NY. Playing guitar since the age of 8, Pat began playing in bands when he was only 13 years old. Although an aficionado of the blues guitar, Pat sometimes crosses over into blue grass and has thus formed a friendship and playing partner with Jeff for over 10 years now. He is also the founding member of the Norman Bates band, a blues ensemble which can be heard playing throughout the Twin Tiers on occasion.
Bass player Bobby Adams is a singer and song writer originally from from Nashville, TN, now residing in Bath, NY. Since moving east to be near family, Bobby has played with Wendy Owens and the Renegades, as well as touring for over two years with legendary Eddie Adcock where he met first met Wisor.
While Jeff Wisor and the Wise Guys can be found playing at various events and venues in the area, their 2 shows Tuesday night at the Tioga County Fair is one not to be missed.
